Wilkie Associates brings together a number of experienced associates based throughout Scotland.

Director:  Debbie Wilkie, MA in HRM & D, Chartered MCIPD

Debbie worked for a number of years as a Policy Manager in the Scottish Office:  local government, area initiatives, steel and shipbuilding and fisheries.  As a qualified trainer she also designed and delivered development training for middle rank and fast stream civil servants supporting government ministers.

In 1999, Debbie was appointed on secondment to set up the Scottish Civic Forum - a body established in parallel with the Scottish Parliament to promote wider and deeper involvement of civil society in public policy development.

This work has contributed different perspectives, informed by the experiences of people living in communities in Scotland. Debbie was appointed as the Forum's Director in April 2004.
At the beginning of 2006, Debbie became freelance.  She is a trained facilitator for the Sus it Out toolkit which enables organisations to explore their existing and potential contribution to sustainable organisational development.

She has also worked with the Scottish Inter Faith Council and more recenlty as an HR Adviser with Aberlour Child Care Trust and has been a Board Member of AGENDA Social Responsibility in Scotland.

Debbie has a particular interest in workplace relationships between employers and employees and volunteers.  Her Masters Dissertation was on the theme:  "The Impact on Volunteer activity of motivation, expectation and psychodynamics:  Volunteering Below the Surface.".

Associates

Our associates come from a range of different  professional backgrounds with expertise in human resource management and development, training design and delivery, formal and informal education, policy development, project management, local and central government, community education and community development,  event design and management including dialogue facilitation.

A number of associates have worked with the Scottish Civic Forum, designing and managing processes to involve a wide range of stakeholders in dialogue and consultation.  These included different types of events from small scale seminars involving 6 people to larger scale multi-day conferences for 200 people.  This unique combination of skills and professionalism means that Wilkie Associates is well placed to tackle a wide range of organisational needs.   Inclusive, participatory engagement was a key Forum objective and required sound working knowledge of equality and diversity issues.
